Foster #1 Laney

First up is senior gal Laney. We had Laney for a couple of months in late 2010. ABR found her a wonderful family to live with.  Laney was able to spend her last year surrounded by people and animals that loved her.

Foster #2 Mr Peabody

Next up is Mr. Peabody. Obviously he is not a Brittany but when a little bundle of fur shows up on your door step what are you going to do?  Mister showed up right after Hurricane Irene passed through the area in 2011.  We did all we could to find his owner but we think he had been turned loose because of a couple of medical issues. It was nothing a couple of trips to the vet couldn't fix.  After a couple of months we found him the perfect forever home.

Foster # 3 & 4 Hope & Faith
In the summer of 2012 we had Hope and Faith.  You can read their success story on the ABR web site at this link.    Hope and Faith success story. These girls wandered up to a house in coastal SC in pretty bad shape. Hope had a litter of pups. The person found homes for the puppies but nobody wanted Hope and Faith so fortunately a call was made to ABR.  We took them straight to the vets. Both girls were heartworm positive. Hope was treated right away but Faith was in bad shape so we had to nurse her back to health before she could do heartworm treatment.  Both girls responded well to our TLC and as their success story on the ABR web site shows they hit the adoption lottery.

 

Foster #5 Smiley Joe

For 3 weeks in September 2012 we were blessed with the presence of Smiley Joe.
ABR called us to see if we could rescue Joe from a local kill shelter. His time was almost up. Joe is probably more Border Collie than Brittany but thank goodness ABR saw fit to save him. He is now living with his forever family and making the most of his second chance.  Occasionally a dog comes along that is more intuitive than most.  That describes Joe.  Along with being the happiest dog in the world (our opinion) these traits helped make Smiley Joe a very special guy.
